State Final of the 2018 Rotary Four Way Test Speaking Contest for Year 10 students.
The Rotary Four Way Test Speech Contest is part of the Rotary School Link Program and encourages teachers and students from each club’s link school to take part in this public speaking, confidence building and ethics consideration opportunity. The Rotary Four Way Test is a state-wide competition with a State final being conducted between the winners of the heats held during the contest.

The aims of the contest are to:
  • promote the ideals of Rotary;
  • develop relationships between Rotary and secondary schools; and
  • develop confidence and self-esteem in Year 10 students.

Winner: Sophie Steel (Corpus Christi College) It’s Time to Face the Truth supported by Rotary Rossmoyne
Runner-up: Georgia Payne (Frederick Irwin Anglican School) Youth Inspiration supported by Rotary Mandurah
Participants: Jimalyn Waiya (Dianella College) Body Image supported by Rotary Matilda Bay
                      Arielle Watts (Perth Modern School) Homeless supported by Rotary Subiaco
All four girls spoke superbly and gave the adjudicators a tough time deciding on the result.
Many thanks to everyone who attended the evening to support these amazing young people. Good food, good company and an excellent competition.
