PDG Charles Johnson is enjoying a change of pace after his year as District Governor, Rotary District 9455.

Charles and his wife Lorna, accompanied by Lorna's mother for part of the trip, are enjoying their travels in the UK.

The photo above is from Charles' visit to the local Rotary Club, Western Super-Mare, where he was a guest speaker.  Charles noted that it seems the UK clubs have similar challenges about membership and in many ways are less advanced in thinking about the future than we are.

Charles is enjoying having some time to enjoy one of his passions after his year as our District Governor. He and Lorna are planning to walk the Cotswold Way which will take seven days and is 89 miles (143km) from Chipping Campden to Bath.  They are carrying their packs but not camping just in hotels and B&Bs at night.  They then plan to do the walk the South Down Way which is a 100 miles (160kms) from Winchester to Eastbourne.  If they survive that they are planning to do the round the Isle of Wight Walk.
