Polio Movie Event 2020
You may have seen lots of ads recently for a new movie on Stan, called I Am Woman.  It’s the story of seventies Australian singing sensation, Helen Reddy.   View the trailer
We’re pleased to tell you that I Am Woman”   is this year’s Polio Movie Event, raising funds for Rotary’s #1 cause and we will be screening at the Greater Union Cinemas Morley, at 6:30pm on Sunday 22nd November.

This is a big movie and its producer says it’s best seen on the big screen.  The great news is that Stan has agreed for Rotary to have the exclusive rights to show the movie in Australian cinemas.
Shot in Sydney with a largely Australian cast and crew, the story traces the life of the singer / songwriter from the time she arrives in New York and it includes all her biggest hits.
Clearly, arranging gatherings of people in 2020 has a few more challenges than usual!  However, with the appropriate measures, we can still do it.
This year’s Polio Movie Event is being run as a tribute to Sir Clem Renouf, the RI President for 1978/79 from Ingham, Queensland.  Sir Clem, who passed away on 11th June, was a giant in Rotary’s history and was one of the leading figures in our fight to end polio.
So, let’s have some fun and raise lots of funds for polio!
