We did it!!

The Rotary Club of Geraldton were pushing to beat last year’s Rotary Radio Auction tally and beat it by four thousand Dollars they did!

This Grand total of $40,040 was reached at the sound of the last bell on Sunday 1st November 2020.
So many helpers turned up this year to answer phones and assist where needed. The day as always ran smoothly and was full of excitement as the tension rose close to the closings seconds of each block.
From the onset, our “On Air Radio Team”, Jason McCarthy, Todd Gray, Leigh Jones, Peter Fiorenza & Glenn Barndon took the reins early morning, later joined by Grant Woodhams, Leigh Jones and Craig Walker keeping everyone on their toes with updates and providing vital information to listeners.
The atmosphere was electric, phones rang out as bids came through at a constant rate. Over 40 volunteers joined the Telstra phone room over the course of the day and the food was delicious thanks to the generosity of Taste Budds WA, Pizza Hut and Woolworths.
A number of new Auction items were included this year designed around WA travel and to suiting the many Grey Nomads now on our roads following COVID 19.

There were many items to meet everyone’s taste and pocket owing to the generosity of so many who came on board to support and assist us in reaching our goal this year. Rotary Radio Auction is our club’s largest fundraiser and was identified as one of the Seven “Signature Projects” in the clubs 70th Anniversary Book released this year on the 3rdOctober 2020 in celebration of “Seventy Years of Service.
