RAWCS (Rotary Australia World Community Services) has launched the first national appeal for this Rotary Year through the Rotary Australia Relief Fund.
Project 1-2022-23 is open for donations to support and resource the Rotary Clubs in the flood affected areas of the Sydney Basin and surrounding areas (this will include Broke, Singleton and other affected areas). We know that the local Rotary Clubs will be doing all in their powers to help their communities to deal with the third major flood in less than two years and will be there for the long haul when the media cycle and other agencies have moved on. Immediate support and longer-term activities to shore up the mental well being of the victims as they tackle yet another clean-up as well as rebuilding community infrastructure and supporting resilience is what Rotary does well. RAWCS supports and facilitates that vital work.
Please encourage the Districts and Clubs in your Regions to support this appeal by visiting www.rawcs.org.au and following the donation routine. The Sydney Flood Appeal will be featured on the home page.
RAWCS is also still actively distributing funds raised to support the victims of the SE Qld and NE NSW floods with vouchers and accommodation from the $900,000 raised through Appeal 47-2021-22 and the delivery RABS project 54-2021-22.
RAWCS has a new statement of what we do, our why statement:
Rotary Australia World Community Service “Our passion is to help and strengthen communities and individuals in need through humanitarian projects.”
With the current series of natural disasters in Australia, our focus on community Recovery and Resilience is keeping us busy indeed.
