The Rotary District Governor of District 9455 and his team consider the health and safety of their clubs' members and the communities in which we all live as paramount. As a consequence a decision has had to be made that in order to help limit the spread of COVID - 19 (Coronavirus) all future district events will be cancelled or suspended until further notice. District will continue to monitor the situation and seek advice from World Health, Federal and State government authorities as to when it might be safe for communities to resume normal life as we know it. Please refer to the District 'Club Runner' Calendar of events at<https://rotarydistrict9455.org/> https://rotarydistrict9455.org/ to determine what events have been cancelled or suspended effective immediately in order to better understand the situation as this health problem unfolds.
On the same basis District 9455 is strongly encouraging Club Boards and their members to seriously consider suspending or changing their meetings to avoid person to person contact.
Whilst this will mean some significant changes and challenges for all of us, it also represents an opportunity for what we at Rotary are known for - service above self.
There are many in our community who will feel the effects of isolation more so than us and we have the potential to increase our service to the communities in which we live.
I would encourage all of you to look for any opportunities (whilst not putting yourself at risk) to help your neighbours and those in need during this difficult period.
To better understand the global effort and Rotary's Role in battling the Coronavirus please read the message below delivered by RI President Mark Maloney and incoming President Holger Knaack
